I'll work with you to brainstorm imagery, colors, textures and motifs to tell your story. Then I'll research the venue and locale of the event.
After the concept starts to take shape, I'll outline the visuals that could be created, as well as paper design elements (e.g. invitation suite paper type(s) + color(s), ink color(s), envelope paper color), and suggest wording. When we’ve decided on the direction, I’ll get to sketching and drawing the illustrations needed.
Then once all the art is done, scanned and the layouts have been designed, I’ll send you a digital copy. We’ll work together to finalize the text or any necessary tweaks. Once you sign off on the design, I’ll work with the printers and other vendors to place the order(s) for all the various elements of the invitation suite.
All the elements of the invitation suite will be grouped together, meaning you will be able to see each asset individually before assembling the invitation suite on your own. Once I receive the package from the printers I will box them together with any other details from additional vendors, such as the custom postage stamps, the wax seal stamp and wax accessories, etc. You will receive a box with everything you need to mail your custom invitations!
This is just an outline of a typical process for the deluxe invitations. I have also worked with some clients to create custom invitations with fewer components.
Sometimes motifs of the invitation become special elements at the events, such as menus, custom napkins, photobooth graphics, funny signs, and even shot glasses!
Sometimes I design custom e-vites too! Here's some examples.
Sometimes I partner with an Ontario based brewery and create delicious one-of-a-kind custom beer that becomes a fun surprise for guests to see the host(s) on a can!
