As the wedding is taking place on Prince Edward Island, one of eastern Canada's maritime provinces, right off the bat we wanted to situate the viewer on the island and introduce them to the picturesque coastal vibe. We did this with a painting of the Stanley Bridge Marina, a popular nearby destination.
If you look carefully you will see the couple's cat strolling along the wharf. Other details on the boat, such as the numbers which are the wedding date and the name of the boat (which is the cat's name) make it extra unique to the couple.
With the main invitation we wanted to highlight the picturesque fields of lupine flowers, stretchs of fresh green hills, and peaceful rivers that make up much of the island. You also see some of the rust colored soil that is unique to the area.
With the Welcome Insert, we wanted to introduce the viewer to the rust-colored sand beaches and dunes famous on the island. The island is also famous for its' oysters which are highlighted in the foreground along with the couple's favorite cocktail.
We chose to print all the papers on uncoated paper to give it an organic finish.
The island is also known for its lobster and a reference to that is with the lobster trap on the RSVP card.
The postage stamp was a vintage life ring with the couple's initials and the wedding date below.
